Configuration
Configure the labels and the annotation tool
Taxonomy
Define your lists of labels
You can create Main lists and Child lists.
A Main list will be shown for every annotation whereas a Child list will be shown after a label is selected if it is attached to it.
The first list you create is a Main list by default. This status can be changed later on.
- List name: identify the list in the exports
- Placeholder: text showed before any label is selected
- Required: if enabled, an annotation must have a label from this list to be valid
- Multiple: if enabled, an annotation can have multiple labels from this list
- Min/Max number: if Multiple is enabled, define the amount of labels an annotation can have. Leave empty for no restriction.
- Name: the display value of the label
- ID: identify the label in the exports
After the label creation, you can set its Color and change its Display name. If you do the latter, it will change the name annotators will see but won’t affect the name in the exports.
Attach a child list to labels
There are two ways to attach a list :
- Click on the button at the end of a label’s line to attach a list to it
- Click on the Manage child lists button (top right) to attach a list to selected or all labels
Graph
If your project is of type Graph, this is where you can define the points and how they are linked.
On the left section, you can add points and set their name, color and order.
To link two points, click on the “Create link” button of the first one then on the “Link to” button of the second one.
The links are shown on the right section.
Annotation tool options
Sequence
Enable the ability to annotate multiple images
Default: false
Minimum number of annotations
You can specify a minimum number of annotations. If this number is not reached, the task can't be validated.
Leave this field empty if you don't want to set any limitation.
Default: empty
Maximum number of annotations
You can specify a maximum number of annotations. If this number is exceeded, the task can't be validated.
Leave this field empty if you don't want to set any limitation.
Default: empty
Annotation overlap
Specify if you want to allow a user to draw a rectangle or a polygon over another.
Default: false
Minimum area
You can specify a minimum size for a polygon or a rectangle by setting a minimum area in px2
Leave this field empty if you don't want to set any limitation.
Default: empty
Outside drawing
Allow the annotator to draw outside the image. This means that you can get vertices lower than 0 or greater than 1.
It is useful when you want the annotator to guess an invisible part of an object.
Default: false
Multi-polygons
Enable the ability to create several polygons or rectangles in one annotation.
Default: false
Sequence propagation
Enable the propagation of an annotation accross a sequence of images.
Option available only if the Sequence option is set to true
Default: true
Auto select
Enable the automatic selection of the annotation after its creation.
Default: false
Text transcription
Specify if the annotations contain text that needs to be transcripted.
Default: false
